Attorney John E. MacDonald has been selected to participate in the Superior Court’s Alternative Sentencing/Diversion Committee. In Superior Court, there is a great need for alternative sentencing to avoid the harsh consequences of permanent criminal convictions.
Mr. MacDonald looks forward to working with this committee and the preparation of the necessary guidelines to oversee a successful implementation of an alternative sentencing/diversion program.
Other members of this committee include Superior Court Magistrate Patrick T. Burke, Superior Court Associate Justice Maureen B. Keough, Rhode Island Attorney General Peter F. Neronha, Rhode Island Public Defender Mary S. McElroy, and Collin Geiselman, the current president of the Rhode Island Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
